Author | Topic: How did animal get to isolated places after the flood? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

It's pretty simple.
If God created the flood, and all the inexplanable conditions (by current science knowledge) that happened, then God put the animals back. Godunnit.

Sounds good except for one misconception. There was vegetation.
Since the dove went out and brought back an olive tree leaf, which I never understood how an olive tree can grow after a flood so quickly and produce a leaf, then God must have just put back everything in its place, if the flood happened. But then why take 2 of every kind if God was going to put everything back in its place?

Isn't it odd how once you shake free of the universal ignorance and blind faith required for any religion to survive, your brain miraculously awakens and starts functioning again? Well I never believed until recently. I do hate religion, even though I participate in one (for the time being). My biggest mistake was to confuse religion/man/God. 3 different things. MY reasons for believing have little to do with the Old Testament. The story of the flood is in the bible, I don't know why. It is hard to fathom it ever happening, but I won't count it out either, because we are here today having a discussion, that's pretty amazing too. I mean if God created all this, then He could have made a flood and put everything back just as easily. I only think it is important to ask God what that story means.

While I appreciate and will fight for a person's right to do as he pleases in this matter, I just don't get the whole church/God thing. Just don't confuse church and God, is my advice. If God did indeed put His laws in our hearts and minds, then you will know in your heart and mind if a church is even coming close to following God's ways. So I don't blame you for feeling this way. I just focus mainly on what was written about Jesus. took me a loooong time before I ever felt anything.

How did the land dwelling animal get to these places if Noah's ark landed somewhere in the middle east? How did the deer get back on Staten Island after only 100 years? Of course I realize there is a big difference between swimming to Staten Island, and Hawaii, but it is amazing none the less. Makes you think.

Magic? What are you some kind of wise guy?
OMG dude, I can't believe you think that I meant magic, of all the stupidest things I ever heard on EVC that one takes the cake, you get the award. And no jar, that is not a stream, it is a major shipping channel, with extremely strong currents, and most likely, the animals swam there.
The lake I live on is almost a mile across, and people have witnessed deer swimming across it before. Or, on a very cold winter, they may have walked across, (polar bears explained) but I don't know if the Aurther Kill ever freezes. I know the Hudson river, and the East river freezes, but there are further away from warm ocean currents. The point is, if it is possible, it can happen. You, or every scientist in the world just may have not thought of a way yet.

That a deer can swim 600 feet across the Arthur Kill is not surprising. That a Platapus or a Koala or a Kangaroo could swim many thousands of miles to Australia is a different matter altogether. Isn't that basically what I said?

I don't know how you can equate deer swimming across a river to crossing thousands of miles of open ocean.
I wasn't equating nothing, its magic that you think so.

another retarded reply.
Even though I printed my point, people in here seem to be stuck on rebuking a point, that I did not make, I was very specific. If you can't see that, and you guys are the "experts" in supposedly trying to find out how an animal could have possibly got there, then it always makes me question the abilities of the so called "smart people", since I am just dumb. I do not sit and ponder how the anilmals got there, the whole flood thing, was obviously a GodDunnit event anyway, why try to figure it out? Does it mean that God desn't exist for you or something? pffffft

OK fine and dandy, i apologize, if i (we) misconstrued your point. Apology accepted, thank you very much, your a good man.
Now can you provide your explanation for the animals in Australia? No I can't, but I can tell you how to install geothermal heating and A/C in your house.
What about the uniqueness of life in isolated places? (biogeography) No, again, but I am amazed by life, and how it gets anywhere. I watch mostly National geographic channel, and PBS in HD, and I always get amazed at just what life can accomplish, given some time, even short amounts of time.
What about mobility challenged and specialized life like blind and earless moles or blind cave fish? I am not convinced that they evolved that way, or were just designed to do become that.

how the hell did they know which way to swim so to combine with ocean currents would take them to a land thousands of miles away? How do animals know a storm is coming, how did certain animals know that a tsunami was coming, how do pigens know which way to fly home? I know you can explain all these things, maybe, but thats not my point. It's obvious that the kangeroos got there in the mouth of a big whale.

No mystery at all. It's not a mystery, because we know the answer. Life is a mystery, because we do not know where it comes from. When I first heard of deers swimming, I was astounded, and did not think with their small hoofs, that they could swim. Each experience in life that we learn about, is new to us, and many times, we think it is not possible for things to happen, yet they do happen. Like I said, I have not sat and pondered the whole thing, or am I qualified too, but I am always willing to offer up an ignorant thought, to those who might be able to make use of it, and hopefully not get ridiculed. Anyone think that after a flood, that many things would be floating around. Why Here in my lake, we have floating islands, that shift, and sometimes break free, and float the distance of the lake. These islands have a life of there own, and if one was big enough, could probably support the life of a deer for a year, no doubt. Again, my point is anything is possible.

and that is what riverrat is betting all his money on. In essence, he hopes that his god exists somewhere within the gaps of human knowledge on the matter. Of course it is a God thing, how else could it have happened? That is the difference between then and now. Back then you had to go to a temple to experience God, or God would show up during special occasions. After Jesus came, the Temple is now us. God dwells within us. 2 very distinct different ways of this world existing with God. So to me, anything that had happened in the OT is hard for us to imagine, and all of those stories were God stories. I don't need to know if they happened or not to believe in God. If God exists, then there is a possibility that these stories did indeed happen. Whenever I discuss these stories in this forum, thats all I am doing is discussing them, I am not taking a position in the discussion. My only position is that I believe in God by faith, and a little more. The bible helped me find God, or helped God find me, so I won't count it out completely, even though I have a hard time imagining these types of things happening, i.e. floods, towers of fire, etc. Because in my life, I have yet to witness a supernatural event, that could not be explained away by some other line of reasoning. Like Jesus said, "your faith healed you." There have been huge changes in my life, both pyhsical and mental, and maybe all of them can be explained away individually, but when you add them all together, the odds of them all happening become like the number .99999999999 to infinity, eventually it becomes 1.

The plural of "anecdote" is not "data". Show me one thing that is not subjective.
