Seriously, if bush said that he "created" some government program, would you fall out of your chair laughing because you knew he didn't really write or design the program?
He DID take the initiative in creating the internet.
That is literally, word for word, true.

Re: I don't believe in evil.

You know, the more I go through life the more I think that the concept of evil is not only useless in describing the world but actually harmful to our understanding of it. Attributed the word 'evil' to the Pope tells us nothing about him, only something about the attributer. But it becomes all to easy to go from "he's evil" to "he did this because he's evil" - bollocks, says I.
No-one has ever, in the entire history of the universe, done anything because they were 'evil'. It doesn't take evil people to commit evil acts. It takes normal people. Decent people. People who believe in their cause.
I completely agree.
It's too easy to label someone evil to distance them from ourselves.

anyway, i hope my post is of interest to other users. this is the end of the debate as far as I'm concerned.
You post was of use to me, mick.
I had no idea that the missionaries and other representatives of the Catholic Church were actively lying to the people most at risk about condoms WRT HIV protection, and that this was deliberate and widespread.
That makes them complicit and active encouragement in lots and lots of preventable suffering and death.
And here I thought that the Catholic Church was the smart, educated, kind one. They are just as sick and deranged as the clinic bonbers as far as I'm concerned, only worse, because they are less honest.
