Re: My view
If God is perfect then everything He is and does is perfect. He couldn't create an imperfect world, by definition.
It sounds like you're saying there's no God. Because... honestly, Faith, have you seen the world?
Leaving violence and hatred aside for the time being, we live in a world that produces true horrors.

Re: My view
The world was created perfect originally. The Fall, human sin, is what made a horror of it.
If humans had sin with which to fall, how could the world have been called perfect?

Re: My view
Yes, I'm aware of what their sin was. But that doesn't answer my question.
How can a world in which sin exists be called perfect? I think you would agree that sin is an imperfection, right?

Re: My view
Sin didn't exist until they disobeyed God.
So what was the deal with Satan being cast out of Heaven?
The ability to sin is part of the original perfection.
I thought you said sin didn't exist yet. How could they have the ability to do something that didn't exist?

Re: My view
But wasn't it part of the whole magilla of Creation, which was made by God? Obviously Eden wasn't separate from Creation's sin, especially Satan's, seeing as he was hanging around as a serpent, and tempting women in fig leaves.
And if Eden was cut off from outside sin, I still don't get how Adam and Eve would have been capable of sinning.

Re: My view
Never thought I'd agree with Dan.
Well, we at least disagree on one point... I don't think perfection is a good thing.

As for smoking, can anyone who is addicted to the stuff really say they LIKE it? NEED it, yes, can't give it up, for sure, but LIKE it?
I like it. Very few things go better with coffee or beer.
Why do you think people take it up in the first place? You've got to start smoking before you can become addicted.
