What is God’s Heaven or plan at the end? Would you like it?
Do you have any idea of what God’s plan is for us after death?
Utopian thinkers say that a utopia is impossible because of boredom. They indicate that boredom kills any utopia. Can you think of a scenario where God’s Shangri-La somehow takes care of boredom.
What does heaven look like to you?
Is it corporeal. Do we join Jesus there in our bodies. Do our bodies go to a new earth?
What is God’s plan? Would you like it?

I don't know
Greatest I am writes:
What is God’s Heaven or plan at the end?
I don't know. I'm not even sure if one exists or not. It's also possible that a God could exist, yet there's still no plan for the end.
Do you have any idea of what God’s plan is for us after death?
No. And I believe that no one does. Especially those who emphatically state that they actually do know. (They make me laugh, actually )
I live this life the best I know how. Trying to be as tolerant, kind, generous and helpful as I can. Any God that doesn't have these ideals as a priority isn't worthy of having followers anyway. So I may not know what's in store, but I'm definitely not worried about it in any way. I live this life in a way such that I'm fully prepared for any judgement, or a final ending, or any possible experience. I'll die one day, on that day I'll get the answers. To quote Peter Pan (from the movie Hook, at least): "To die would be a great adventure." In fact, you can say a part of me looks forward to death.
Can you think of a scenario where God’s Shangri-La somehow takes care of boredom.
If God is omnipotent, can't he create a uptopia without boredom?
I wonder if boredom isn't so much a problem of time, but more of a problem with attitude. Isn't the issue against boredom along the lines of "given infinite time, one would eventually do everything and there'd be nothing left to do..." But, well, there's always one higher number to count to. Which tells me there's always something left for one to do.
Infinite time doesn't allow one to do everything. It simply allows one to infinitely go on doing the same thing (counting, for example). Yet infinite time still doesn't allow anyone to reach "infinity" while counting, they just never have to stop, that's all.
And if I can think up one simple example here, I'd expect there'd be plenty more one could think up given an infinite amount of time to do so
What does heaven look like to you?
I'm not sure. But I do believe it would be a completely different universe. Perhaps no restrictions on mobility, or health, or life-span. But I really don't know. A place where parasitic-type life forms are not necessary, and therefore don't exist. Meh, then it starts to sound too easy, which, well... would remove all the challenge. I always seem to run into contradictions when I imagine "a utopia". So maybe it isn't a utopia? It would be very exciting to have more time to explore this universe and the intelligence included within it, or any other universe, really.
Is it corporeal?
Possibly. But I don't think it needs to be.
Do we join Jesus there in our bodies?
I really doubt that very much.
Do our bodies go to a new earth?
I really don't see our bodies as very important. I see our mind's as the most important. If my thought-patterns can somehow get transferred into another more-reliable type of transportation, I'd be happy. If that's impossible, and we keep our bodies, I'd still be happy.

What an excellent topic - well done.
What is God’s Heaven or plan at the end? Would you like it?
I think we will all like it. I can only discuss my heaven though. But I don't know if we will all be staying, because I believe there will be a "new heaven and a new earth", and many placements. I think some transitionals will want to go to the new earth, but they'll have to put their names down. There's a waiting list, so you get to look forward to it for atleast a zillion years. Your desires are fulfilled. The boring types will want to be in God's presence, and worship him, (like me).
I think boredom is the abscence of activites we enjoy, goals to have, or work, etc..I believe heaven will be a place of constant activity, constant adventures, goals, constant purpose.
If you have noticed in life, if you are constantly content, death or boredom become irrelevant - you could live forever easily, in that altered state. Time becomes relative when yu enjoy yourself, it flies.
What does heaven look like to you?
It's a huge mountainous country area with a lake below a great green grass mountain and babas are in a cordened off cresh. Para' is one of them and he's playing with RobinRohanbaba. The grass is bathed in sunlight, and there is no more harm to a baba. My brother that died as a baba is there, he is preserved for me, my constant baba I can play with much. Each baba has a toy that gives them unlimited joy. There are only those with benevolent good intentions there. There are many kinds of activities. I can fly like superman in heaven, and I have the blue tights to go with the red cape, and the "S" for "superbaba". Ofcourse, this is my heaven, and I can only meet you if you agree to take part in it. But it will only be as a dream that passes, and then you'll find yourself in your heaven. It will be more odd and more fulfilling that 2001; a space odyssey.
See Crash - belief has nothing to do with fantasy.
Unless you accept yur size like a baba accepts santa, you can in no wise enter.

Thanks for the effort in the reply.
I think that learning will have a curve that may be endless.
The rest would be speculation.

Thanks.
I would only say that your view can afford to allow God to be able to create as many earths as is required. We all get one if we want.
God does not make souls to loose them. We all get to heaven.

I like that
Greatest I am writes:

That sounds like an excellent description for what I would call "heaven"
Also, it's fair to note that by "learning" I don't only mean academic study. There's plenty to learn by simply meeting new people. And, well, as long as people keep dying and entering the afterlife... I don't see how learning could ever really stop.
Can you imagine how long it would take you to introduce yourself to everyone on earth? And then everyone who's ever lived and died before? And then everyone who's yet to live and die? Doesn't sound very boring to me.

I agree. My opinion is irrelevant to whatever reality is, but I find it highly unlikely that God would make souls to lose them.
Ofcourse, my imagination is a bit whacky - I'm not sure the new earth would be a material universe, but more like a dream world.

So whats the plan, Boss?
Greatest I am writes:
What is God’s Heaven or plan at the end?
Phat writes:
Personally,I believe that God will interact with humanity at the end, which I assume you mean our physical death. As to His plan, I know what traditions have said, but I personally believe that we will be given greater responsibilities based on our efforts here. The only other view that I could guess is that we will cease to exist. Those are the only options I see forthcoming.
Would you like it?
Phat writes:
I have no problem with God running the show or being in control. I may gripe a bit if i have to do a lot of work, however. It has always been my habit to ride on Dads coattails. Who know? Before I die, I may have learned enough to graduate.
Do you have any idea of what God’s plan is for us after death?
Phat writes:
Nope. I can only trust that it is better than anything we could come up with!
Utopian thinkers say that a utopia is impossible because of boredom. They indicate that boredom kills any utopia. Can you think of a scenario where God’s Shangri-La somehow takes care of boredom?
Phat writes:
I certain hope that its not boring, but its not like i create myown reality, is it? Would a hell be boring?
What does heaven look like to you?
Phat writes:
Peaceful yet full of boundless optimism, excitement, and energy! No hangups to work on any more. Nobody that you dislike. Thats about it so far....
Is it corporeal. Do we join Jesus there in our bodies. Do our bodies go to a new earth?
Phat writes:
I believe strongly that our souls/and/or spirits are in a communion with Jesus...but its just my belief!
What is God’s plan?
Phat writes:
Step One: Honesty. Step Two: Duty. Step 3: Acceptance and surrender of Ego. IMHO
Would you like it?
I guess we shall see!

There is no possible way for anyone having even the slightest chance at knowing the right answer to that question.
Even if they guess correctly, how could they possibly determine if they are right?
It is therefore a total waste of time and thought to contemplate it for any longer than it takes to come to the first two conclusions stated above.
Anybody who thinks they know is just a) making it up and choosing to believe it, or b) repeating what somebody told them and choosing to believe it.
Sorry if I'm a killjoy.

Knowing as little as I do, I think that we will, as you say

In the end I believe that we are all destined to become new Adams on new earths.

Christians tend to have a very abstract view of heaven, something along the lines of 'experiencing the presence of God'. There is also a strange dichotomy that exists between body and flesh - on the one hand the body will exist(at least for a while), but many of the bodily pleasure such as sex, food, drink. ect will not. What people will be doing to keep them occupied for eternity is not explicitly stated. Maybe there are game nights planned, hay rides, karaoke ? Who knows.
Other religions such as Islam have a much more steamy view of eternal bliss, and the afterlife revolves around pleasures of the flesh. Wild sex appears to be on the menu, and is obviously one of the activities that are planned to keep people occupied and content. What the men do when they are not banging their 100 virgins is not really spelled out either, nor is it mentioned what the women get to do, or if they too will have access to a stable of men.
Not only do Muslims get to experience the presence of God, but they get to engage in all sorts of illicit pleasures. So in answer to your question, if this is what heaven is, then yes I would like it !
Seriously though, if our consciousness somehow did continue to survive after the death of our body, I see no reason why our existence would not be filled with many of the same mundane and boring aspects of our present existence.
Edited by Grizz, : No reason given.
