This is what this yahoo(the writer obviously has some basic problems with logic) has to say about that.

There is no historical evidence for any of this. None. There are the writings included in the bible, nothing else. The writings in the bible are of no value historically to show the historical existence of this character.

There was no public reaction at the time. None. If there were there would have been some sort of public record.

As a typical apologist this writer is being deceptive and dishonest. He claims there is historical evidence, but expects people to accept that on faith alone? There either is historical evidence or there isn't. If there is, someone should present it. What disinformation is he spreading? He has extensive research in what he writes. I really don't think he gives a rats ass about the faith of Christians. This is just more of your christian persecution syndrome. Unless of course you can show he is trying to hurt christian fee fees. He only cares about the evidence and where it leads.
