I have an opinion about that. I think they were angels.

Classical Hebrew is Biblical Hebrew. They teach it at several colleges and many, many seminaries (Though some that I know that took it seem to have not used it and rememebr less than they did)I bought a Old Testament hebrew flashcard set, so I hope I will learn at least a little of it in the summer.on the Rephaim: THey could be Giants and a race of people. It is cool to study.

Hey Whisper There are some that think the Nephilim where angels or a race of demi-gods, though I dont believe either idea. I hold that they where angel/human giants, though others have their ideas.I believe some of the anicents believed that the nephilim where angels (Nephilim: Fallen ones. "Fallen" angels?) though the interpretation that they where supernatural giants descended from angels and mortal women is the better view (and probably the oldest interpretation as well)neat idea though.

Hey Juggy. Thanks for the links I didnt see anything that showed the "Hobbits" where humo sapiens like you and me, Though they might just be modern humans. their anatomy seems to show them as a new species of human (like Neanderthals and the Heidelbergs)a descendant of Homo Erectus, though I still consider them human, a human in ways unlike us (DNA, bone atatomy, etc) but still a human, and in a Biblical term, Created in the image of God. DNA should enlighten us about their humanity.It would be great if they where still around.

You could post it but prepare for the response - AIG has no credibility at all and is generally seen as a crank site by atheists and less hardcore Christians alike.The simple rule of thumb seems to be "if it's on AIG - it's not true".Edited by CK, : No reason given.

Me and Arach agreed that it shouldn't be used in arguments here (as you said, it wouldn't be taken seriously), but I brought it up when the idea that the "Hobbits" where modern humans (they have a big article on it, last time I checked.)I was just trying to show where Juggy might be getting some info.Interesting: Although AIG oftens talks about dinosaurs with Noah, evidence for the flood and a 6,000 year old earth, dragons and other interesting facts, I have rarely seen something about Giants on the AIG website. I think that angels married earth girls, and the children were giants.Another thing, is why do those angels have to be bad? I think maybe most were good ones. What's wrong with sex and marriage and children?

Well, look at it this way. There are only two kinds of angels, the kind that rebelled against God and followed Lucifer/Satan, otherwise known as fallen angels, and the kind that remained true to God and serve Him constantly. the problem was that the angels taught mankind things they shouldn't have, spells, war, etc
enoch despite not being in the canons of most of the bibles, gives insight into how the hebrews explained the giants and the floodgod didn't want man to know the things the angels did or have the angels mate with man
the story is another example of how best to piss off god

But this is not in the bible. Some angels had rebelled, yes, we know that. But having sex with women was no crime, I would contend.

and yes part of it was having sex with women and the result of children from said relations
being tha angels are immortal wouldn't that make man immortal? well produce half-gods?
then again the bibles not exactly linear anyway
