Those passages clearly demonstrate that the writers thereof firmly believed that the earth was flat and stationary.
ok sorry i dont know how to quote and i dont know if anyone answered these already but im going to give it a shot
"" 10 These are the visions I saw while lying in my bed: I looked, and there before me stood a tree in the middle of the land. Its height was enormous. 11 The tree grew large and strong and its top touched the sky; it was visible to the ends of the earth."
first off, this is a vision, prove me wrong but when do our dreams have exact geographical inerrancy? second its height was ENORMOUS, keep that in mind that this tree can be ANY height, seriously let your mind go wild, even still no matter how tall this tree is it can ONLY see HALF of the entire earth from where it is. now where it says "it was visible to the ends of the earth" now what does that mean, ok, lets go to the shore here, when we look across the waters we see an end right? we dont see whats beyond the horizon, some people would believe it to be the END of their sight distance. Ends of the earth, plural, nowhere in that quote does it say THE end of the earth, if it said that then we would have a problem. NOT having that infinitive there changed the entire quote, meaning the tree is able to see the ENDS of the earth from its location.
" 8Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor."
alright this was when Jesus was being tempted by the Devil, now, where are they? middle east, right? ok, well at what time period is this as well? 2000 years ago i bet you that not a lot of kingdoms existed, wherever they were i bet they saw Rome and Rome was the ruler of the world right? so, at a primitive earth i bet they COULD see all the kingdoms in the world cuz they were all THERE only! not in africa, not in america, all the kingdoms in the world were only in the middle east at the time!
" 30 Tremble before him, all the earth!
The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved."
i dont understand how this referrs to a flat earth? it cannot be moved means nothing, of course it cant, the earth stays in its revolution around the sun and it always stays tilted 23 degrees.
please elaborate on this quote
" 1 The LORD reigns, he is robed in majesty;
the LORD is robed in majesty
and is armed with strength.
The world is firmly established;
it cannot be moved."
this is merely an extention to the latter quote, i dont understand what you mean.
