Matthew covers that as well. Se Matthew 25.
34"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
37"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
There is certainly no need to show a love of GOD, afterall, that is between you and GOD. But as the passage shows, if you try to do what Jesus would have done, that is love enough.

Re: But They're Back!!
When the King of Israel returns, it will be for those who are waiting for him. That will certainly not be many Jews.
It will be twofold.
1. To gather his elect church to himself in the clouds.
2. To set up his kingdom on earth at Jerusalem on Mt Zion, the temple mount where he will rule as king on the throne of David for one thousand years. Israel, under the kingship of Jesus will be the central world power and all nations will do pilgrimages to Jerusalem and be subjected under the authority of Jesus.

Re: But They're Back!!
That's well-said, Buz. The restoration prophecies would be nice to see. Please do.
There's too many and too lengthy to quote. Ezekiel 37, 38 and 39 are the most comprehensive. Jesus prophesied it in his Olivet discourse in Luke 21. Most all of the major and minor prophets alude to it. Isaiah 11 is a good one for example.

Re: But They're Back!!
Of course Buz, as you know, the Olivet Discourse is about the events leading up to the destruction of the Herodian additions to the Temple. It's not about current events at all.
You need to do your homework Paul and read what the Olivet discourse includes. It begins with the destruction of the temple, goes on to say gentile nations will occupy Jerusalem, meaning the Jews will be driven out and from there the preaching of his gospel to all the world, the end of gentile occupation of Jerusalem meaning gentile nations out and Jews back in, darkening of the sun and moon, heavens shaken and his (Jesus's) appearing in the clouds to receive up his elect people which his angels gather to him. In the interim there are periods of warfate, tribulation, nations rising against nations, and so forth. Far, far too many events and occupations of Jerusalem for your hypothesis. This ties in with Ezekiel and many of the OT prophesies which prophesy the same stuff. You're outa your field here, my friend. The whole picture comes together nicely when you put it all together with all the prophets and Jesus. The Jews back in as we see them after 1900 years, the preaching of his gospel worldwide, etc is ample evidence of it's acuracy in fulfillment.

Re: But They're Back!!
Buz you know full well that I have read to Olivet Discourse. Just as you know that what I say is true. It does not begin with the destruction of the Temple. The Olivet Discourse is about the signs LEADING UP TO the destruction of the Temple.
That is what the Bible says. That is what I will find if I read the Olivet Discourse again. And you know that.

Re: But They're Back!!
Jesus says in the Bible
John 14:4-6
"And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
This is how you will get to the heaven of Jehovah God.

Re: But They're Back!!
Of course, the Jewish people happen to disagree. The destiny of Israel is in scripture, but the so called "New Testament" is just some books written by man, not inspired by god at all.
And of course, those words are rather obscure, and could mean a lot of things.

Re: But They're Back!!
Of course they could.
Spiritual Israel will live for eternity. Physical Israel fares the same as any other nation on this planet. Their calling to take the True God to all the world, as missionaries of sorts, is terminated.

"Let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit!"

You Muslims will do just fine.
You worship the same GOD as the Jews and Christians, and Christianity is only the path for Christians. As it says in Matthew,
31"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
41"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'
44"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'
45"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
46"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
Love GOD and Love your fellow man as yourself. That is all that's needed.
Notice in that passage that the people will be seperated, not on what they profess, but on whether they Loved GOD and loved others as the loved themselves.

Re: You Muslims will do just fine.
Interesting prospect jar. Now that's a different story from what buzsaw once implied, he seem to indicata that we muslims will go on and conquer jerusalem and the world and then defeated by the army of Jesus.
