Of course it can be proved with the understanding that honesty is involved and proved carries the normal disclaimer of "having a very high degree of confidence but alway open to revision should new data show up. LOL

It is certainly clear that the earth did not start off covered in water. During the early life of the earth, conditions were too hot for water to even exist.
