Just as an aside Mr P do we actually need an ultimate single common ancestor? Could abiogenesis not have produced n types of similar original primitive self replicating organisms?

I tend to think further human evolution to the point of speciation is unlikely, for a simple reason: the greatest selective pressure leading to speciation appears to be environmental, but human beings are capable of artificially manipulating their environment in ways which reduce that selective pressure. The arctic need not speciate to survive in the cold - they need only develop warmer clothing and other technological adaptations. (Of course they may tend to be plumper - but that is a very minor adaptation.)

Also the other side of the Punk Eeeek coin comes into play, i.e if mutations reach fixation faster in small isolated populations an obvious consequence is that a large population (global) requires more time for genes to reach fixation....

Probably because competition has been between humans and humans instead of humans and other species for a long while, also about the only thing us hairless apes have going for us is our brains, no claws, no big scary teeth, we`re not the biggest, fastest or strongest. So under survival of the fittest smarter is better for us hence the species gets smarter on average.....

Of course I`d argue that the average was again in decline presently but thats because our societies are no longer survival of the fittest....

Hmmm I thought QS was a 12 year old american living in Singapore, thats what his posts have said, any reason you don`t think that this is the case?
What is the relevance of "most common and typical pre-teen drivel" as a criticism of a 12 year old amyway?
And to be perfectly honest minus the various ad homs and scatalogical references most of what he said was fairly accurate....
You have forsaken relevant debate to mount a soapbox attack on "evilutionists" and post a cut and paste job of various out of context and date quotes.........
