Did the belief in evolution ever accomplish good?

Nevertheless, for the billionth time, you are probably alive today because of evolutionary science. Genetic engineering (based on evolution) is working to cure world hunger. Sickness is of course cured by medical advances which constantly have to stay ahead of mutations and evolution of the bugs it is fighting. Slavery and racism is as rooted in the Bible and religion as it is in anything else.
