Hey Valdemar!
I've been on the theologyforums for a while. I sent you a PM, so make sure you check...
Evangelist is trying to show that evolutionists can't even make up their mind on these topics. We don't have to show that he is quote mining. What we must do is show why those quotes are irrelevant in this day and age. It seems that him and his little friends won't accept age as an excuse. I've already tried to show that new discoveries have been made which make 50 year old "abiogenesis is impossible" statements void, but, well... read the thread
All we need to do is show that the quotes ARE not timeless (as Jorge and his minions are claiming, but failing to support with evidence).

Re: Understand what Quote Mining is
Well now, Ned, there's a challenge for you. Search out the quotes and document that their message is outa context.
We've done that sort of thing so often that we now have a tremendous database of statistics with which we can predict that any creationist collection of quotes will be out of context, with high degree of certainty.
Tell you what, Buz. Take a look at Quote Mine Project and point out any of those many quotes which were actually in context in the original creationist quote. If you can come up with 25% of them being called "mined" erroneously it might be worth our while to look up the quotes on this other list.

The total absence of attention given to this topic by the defenders of evolution is an indictment.
Why doesn't one of you terriers for Darwin refute this stuff and place it all in context ?
That would take some work, but I for one would be very interested to read such a reply.

Let's start with one
Professor G. G. Simpson reports that the mathematical likelihood of getting good evolutionary results would occur only once in 274 billion years! And that would be assuming 100 million individuals reproducing a new generation every day! He concludes by saying:
"Obviously...such a process has played no part whatever in evolution." The Major Features of Evolution, p. 96.
Could you supply the complete page around this quote. Without it I can't say what he was saying. However I will tell you what I believe it means after you tell me what it means.

What amazing hypocrisy!
Willowtree berates evolutionists for not enthusiastically responding to a string of supposed quotes refuting evolution. Willowtree challenges evolutionists to refute the quotes. NosyNed takes up the challenge within 3 hours wanting willowtree to select 3 quotes for further discussion. willowtree then takes almost 2 weeks to respond with
quote:
You pick three it doesn't matter to me.
The total absence of attention given to this topic by the attackers of evolution is an indictment.
