It would be useful if you gave the appropriate quote out of your reference but it appears to be discussing the origin of life and not evolution. I suggest you research the difference.

Maybe I should have been more specific.

Why do we (westerners) subsribe to a seven day week. As far as I know, there is no natural reason for doing this. The year is based on the earth's rotation around the sun, the months is based on the phases of the moon, and a day is based on one full rotation of earth on its axis. Please correct me if I am wrong on any of these.

I think that the beginning of this thread stated that it was common sense that evolution has occured.

Well, then, shouldn't it be common sense that people know why we use a seven day week, that is not based on natural occurances. If this is off topic, then can we move it to a new topic or is there one that already exists?

I think the seven day week correlates with the way God made us, and is proof for the Genesis account.
