Wow, from one tangent to another. And in a three-year-old thread, no less. The seven-day week (which ultimately stems from ancient astrology and the Pleiades) and the Gregorian calendar (which probably failed to correctly guess the birth year of Jesus, if he had one) are both inventions of man, just like all the alternatives. The more globalized business and politics get, the harder it is to function without agreeing on one system of date-keeping. As it happens, Western society has largely had its ways adopted by those who seek to trade with it, and other cultures have profited from the efficiency gained in doing so. However, there are plenty of groups who live just fine without caring what "day of the week" it is, or how many years it has been since somebody else's messiah was born. But I'm just encouraging more tangents. So, either we can let this one die, or we can talk about the opening post and what facts support or refute it.
