connect the dots
I'm not asking for an unbroken chain but for some sort of honesty from evolutionists.
some sort of honesty?
i have a better game.

reinterpretting the data
you never reinterpretted my data, rand.
i see ALOT of gaps there, don't you? i mean, 90% of the lines are missing! it's hardly a complete picture. what do you suppose it is? were the dot's just created that way?

I think I'm gonna start beliving in the intelligent pusher next.
no no. gravity is still a myth though -- the earth just sucks.

Re: randman can't do it, Christian
The problem is the connections don't exist.
yeah, well, they don't exist here either.
we evos resort to silly posts because the creationists can't seem to get the kindergarten concepts, let alone the hardcore science that takes a ph.d. and years of research to fully understand. in fact, you guys seem to spend a lot of time saying that stuff doesn't even exist. tell me, have you ever even picked up an evolutionary paleontology book? taken a college level geology or biology class?

recycled creationist mumbo-jumbo
The problem is after taking those classes I decided to look into the data for myself and found most of the "evidence" presented in the class was a lie.
as a skeptical person, i highly doubt that story. why? because look at the recycled creationist arguments that follow it:
  • "Presenting older forms of people, such as Neanderthals as ape-like when they were not."
  • "Using faked drawings to make unproven claims of a phylotypic embryonic stage."
  • "Using false claims in depicting the so-called ape to human transition."
  • "Claiming micro-evolution equals macro-evolution."
  • "Lying about the reality of the fossil record,"
we've all heard the arguments before, randman. we know where they come from. and it's not "examining the evidence." becauses the people who actually work in the field examine the evidence daily and haven't found these claims to have support.
no, these arguments come from the same old creationist sources we've all read before. they've been refuted dozen upon dozens of times here. the first two, frankly, were out of date 100 years ago.
i think the likely story is that you were handed a pamphlette or two, heard some convincing sermons, and maybe underwent a religious transformation.

I'm not cutting and running, Mark. I've been asked to drop this line of discussion from this thread.
i think you are, but i won't make the accusation because it's possible that you just missed the post in the other thread and then subsequently posted four times after it. feel free to address it there.

hoof arted.
something like this?
quote:
This diagram shows the evolution of horse hind feet.
a. shows Hyracotherium, from 55 million years ago.
b. shows Miohippus, from 35 million years ago
c. shows Merychippus, from 17 million years ago
d. shows Equus, the modern horse, with its single hoof.
Bpeah.com is for sale | HugeDomains
(quick google search) razd probably gave you more steps than that, but that's the idea. three equal metatarsels, to one dominant metatarsel and small toes on the side, to one fused metatarsel and vestigal toes, to the single toe and metatarsel of a modern horse.

Re: hoof arted.
i found a photographic one, but it was less clear.
if you click the link there there's another graphic showing ontogeny recapitulating phylogeny.

Re: hoof arted.
Can you produce the evidence for the dating of these hoofs/limbs/appendages?
Can you show exactly where they were found?
feel free to look up the species named in something that's not a webpage.
Are the proportions correct or artificially made to appear the same size?
they are made to appear the same size, but it's irrelevent to the morphology. they actually grow, from left to right, pretty consistently.
These are the sorts of questions a site such as the one you linked should be discussing instead of just spinning the usual evolutionist yarn, the usual evolutionist fairy tale.
not everything is a science text, and not all science texts are technical journals. want more information? look it up. otherwise, your requests for information are really just disengenuous rhetoric. you have no intention of finding these answers, nor would there be a way to satisfy you as to their accuracy if they were given to you.
christian at least is willing to go to a library and pick up a book, and read it, and approach it with a somewhat open and questioning mind.

Re: Pelycodus ...Horse ...Elephant?
arachnophilia has posted a diagram of the bone structure
i'm sure i could go textbook hunting and find a nicer diagram with more species -- actually, there might be one in that book i recommended christian.
christian, do you still have that book from the library? if so, does it go into any detail about horse evolution?

that's a good idea. I'll look them up in the vertebrate palentology book you recommended I read.
well, i just wanted you to look at the pictures, but i admire your effort to read it. did you buy it, or just keep renewing it from the library?
i don't recall if it goes into horse evolution in specific, though i'm sure you could find whole books on that. i used the part on bird evolution for a art project, thought it was one of many resources, and not my primary one. it's far too general, really.
