The Chaser's War On Everything
This is a hoot! It's a popular TV show in Australia, kind of like what you might get if The Daily Show were hosted by the geeks at Attack Of The Show. There are three segments of TCWOE in the linked video; the first one about a heightened terror alert at public landmarks is the funniest. The last one about recruitment at Australia's intelligence service is also hilarious.

Re: Doonesbury on Creationism
OK, since some "funnies" got comments earlier in the thread I guess it isn't out of order for me to comment on this: It's the usual misrepresentation of creationists which really by now ought to have been put to rest at evc. Silly straw man. Obnoxious straw man actually. There's nothing "macro" about the "evolution" of bacteria, and macroevolution is all creationists disagree with.
Must be over twenty years since I thought Doonesbury had anything funny or true to say.

You mean not only is it not true, it's not even funny? Darn!

There was, was there not a whole lot of looting going on in New orleans was there not?
Well, they weren't stealing things like TV sets or stereos for the most part.
They were "looting" things like toilet paper, diapers, drinking water, medicine, and food, to keep themselves and their children from dying.

Re: Doonesbury on Creationism
Here I thought it was very true and very funny actually.
It was a very intelligently designed commentary.

The cartoon is pretty good.

But that's funny!

God gave us the earth. We have dominion over the plants, the animals, the trees. God said, ”Earth is yours. Take it. Rape it. It’s yours.’

The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson
This classic bit features Johnny with Dom DeLuise and Burt Reynolds in a remarkably homo-erotic food fight. I don't know the date but I remember the show. It's from the late 70s. The video quality is good.

Putin rejects Bush's Iraq democracy model
This is unfortunately true.
quote:
"I talked about my desire to promote institutional change in parts of the world, like Iraq where there's a free press and free religion, and I told him that a lot of people in our country would hope that Russia would do the same," Bush said.
To that, Putin replied, "We certainly would not want to have the same kind of democracy that they have in Iraq, quite honestly."
