Here's why I'm alive and happy for it

What I was agreeing with Prophex about was that evolution shows we are not special--although I might add that you don't need evolution to show you that. One might not give one thought to the origin of species and still come to the same conclusion just from daily observation of the arbitrary, accidental nature of life.After that, I part ways with Prophex.

That's right. The word is "honorable." It's more honorable to be right than to be happy.However, I'm happy enough. A longer life, for starters. I've spent many years learning how to live. It seems a pity that I can't have another hundred or so in which to apply the lesson.In such a case, after many years, I might have done something. I might have been a contender.

How would a longer life give meaning to your life? I thought you said life was meaningless.What does a longer life have about it that it lends intrensic meaning to your existence?

I bet I know one thing that makes you happy--sharing your writing and having it well received. I bet the writing process itself is pretty contenting as well.
