I don't know.... Lately I've been really disinterested in arguing over the same points for the millionth time.
That does get rather annoying.

Ever Present Doggers Tire And Bore
Ever active doggers who seem to follow you around 24/7 (must be either millionaires, on permanent disability, retired or on welfare) responding to your message with something; anything having any semblense of refute. All it takes is one to three or four of these types to make it boring and tiresome.
I have no problem with active members so long as they respond respectfully, sensibly and with substance worthy of the time it takes to respond.

Re: EvC
well, except for Jar and Crashfrog. They've made a career out of a hobby.
Huh. I don't know about Jar but I'm still waiting for my check.

I only get bored when there's nobody halfway lucid (or if they are lucid, halfway honest) to debate with.
I like the mental exercise that addressing various arguments provides, and I've certainly learned a great deal over the years, (about debate, and factual stuff too) and changed my views on a number of issues as well.
In the beginning, I did get rather intense about the debates, but I really don't anymore. that's ultimately better, I think, since it makes me more effective.
Arguing against opponents helps me to test and challenge my own positions on various subjects to see if I should continue to hold them or if I should refine or replace them.
I also like to think I'm doing my small part to combat ignorance, irrationality, anti-science and anti-intellectualism.

Well, you do lose every debate, Juggs. I have always marveled at how much of a glutton for punishment you seem to be.

Er, or we might just be under some delusion that you are more reasonable than most Creationists and so we take the trouble to pay attention to your arguments.

If they can't let it go, it might be an indication that you have a solid argument and they hate you for it.
Please, Juggs, you're giving yourself far, far too much credit. The day I actually grow to feel anything even remotely similar to hate for anyone at EvC, I will ask someone to take me to a mental health professional.
Mostly, I feel bemusement.

Again, you overestimate the power you have.
People are often just stubborn, you know, and refuse to let you get away with stuff.

Wouldn't that be sadism if it's Ringo we're talking about?

Seconded. NJ we pile it on because we all sense what a crackable nut you are. Somebody like Ray, there's no place for a reasonable argument to find purchase - he just doesn't think that way. But we sense you're reasonable enough to see the reason in evolution.
I recall Buz once said something similar about me. I wonder if he still feels that way.

Do you mean that absolutely or in a relative kind of way?

What can I say? I have a lot to atone for. Plus I like a little adversity. Never be too satisfied in anything, as satisfaction is the death of desire.

No, because its self-inflicted. Though I suppose it could go both ways -- either dishing it out, or taking on punishment for all its worth.

Hmmmmmm.... Not sure if that's a compliment or chastisement.
You're incorrect about the crackable nut thing though. I'm not crackable, but I am a nut.

Good Time to Admin
When you can't find a discussion that intrigues you or just find repetition that is a good time to do more moderating.

I go through waves. I used to post a lot and read most threads; these days I post a little, and read a few threads.

Re: How you see EvC is how y'll feel about EvC
It used to be that I had so much unsaid, I could never have enoungh time on EVC but now it takes me a lot longer to learn something I did not already know or have thought. Hence it takes me more time to respond, even to simple questions. I like to bring something not seen before so a simple post or chat does not cut it for me.

I'll say you have and your counterparts in debate appreciate the contribution you make here here at EvC all the more. May God bless you and yours!
