Right wing short sightedness.
This country is not a dictatorship. The President's actual powers are limited, and just about anything that he can do can be undone by Congress, or by the Supreme Court if it's outside his power.
Of course, the hard-core supporters of the current Bush kleptocracy have been trying like hell to weaken the limitations on the President's powers, especially in regards to national security issues.
Funny how now they seem scared when someone else may be operating without those limitations.

Speaking personally, I find few things more awesome than contemplating this vast and majestic process of evolution, the ebb and flow of successive biotas through geological time. Creationists and others who cannot for ideological or religious reasons accept the fact of evolution miss out a great deal, and are left with a claustrophobic little universe in which nothing happens and nothing changes.

Re: Still no socialism
From the link:
quote:
The central point of Barack Obama’s economic plan is to tax the rich in order the give money to the poor. Of course, this is nothing more than the core philosophy of the welfare state. It is also the core principle of socialism.
Actually, it's not a core principle of socialism at all. In fact, it's not even a subsidiary principle. Do you know what socialism is, Buz? What do you think socialism is? A list of policies that you find objectionable?

Re: Still no socialism
really dont think you have any idea what socialism is....
He seems to know as much about it as he does about Islam. (And about as much as he knows about U.S. history, for that matter.)

Re: Buzsaw Claims No Prophecy Gift
He must move only at the pace he dares, given the watch people in places like the internet and Fox News etc. Were it not for these, he would already be essentially Hugo Chavez in the White House.
Ha! Did I call this, or what?
P.S. All snark aside, Buz, I thought you had been banned. I'm glad to see that you are still around.

To count as an atheist, one needn't claim to have proof that there are no gods. One only needs to believe that the evidence on the god question is in a similar state to the evidence on the werewolf question. -- John McCarthy
