Bunch of crap
Well that is the biggest bunch of crap I ever saw for a test.
First they ask you
2. How many times does the word "God" appear in the U.S. Constitution?
Ok, so we are talking about God here, right? Wrong?
3. How many times does the Declaration of Independence refer to Christianity or Jesus?
But the Declaration of Independence does mention the creator. How did it jump from God, to Christianity. well because if it asked you if God was mentioned in the declaration of independence, then you would have to answer YES!
So my question to is that a quiz to determine your knowledge of what the term separation of church and state means, or to see just who hates Christianity?
Try again.

Have a clue?
Anyone have a clue why this came about?
11. By an Act of Congress, U.S. currency has carried the motto "In God We Trust" since
Or how the pledge of allegiance even came into existance?
I mean really, could you be anymore hateful?

Re: Bunch of crap
Your joking right?
Why did they jump from God, to Christianity?
Isn't it obvious?
Separation of church and state does not mean we are an atheist nation, plain and simple.
Show me were in any of the constitution, or Decrlaration of Independence that we cannot use bilical principals, or anyother form of morals to make up who and what we are.
Show me were it says we are to use only atheistic moral, or morals governed by science to determine or laws?
I should start a new nation, and the first ammendment will read, a separation of science and state. Especially since nothing in science is proven.

Re: Have a clue?
Eisenhower wanted to drive home the difference between America and the "godless" Communists. Cold War rhetoric, in other words.
Correct.
What's hateful about the facts?
The way you arrange them, and single out one specific religion.
Not that I care really, because I am not a big fan of religion.
But I don't think we should be a Godless nation, thats not what was meant by separation of church and state, and the declaration of independence backs me up on that.
It means that religous leaders, NOT MORALS, should not be in control of our nation, as they have proven themselves time and again, that they are not good representatives of who and what God is, they are just men, runing there own governement, and use God as an exuse to do terrible things. This also does not mean we should be Godless.

Re: Bunch of crap
I didn't see the message as inherently hateful either.
But there was clearly an agenda.
Then why single out Christianity?
There is more than one representative of things on the walls of capitol hill.

Re: Bunch of crap
Separation of church and state does not mean we are an atheist nation, plain and simple.
no, it means we have a government that stays out of it.
No it means we have a church that stays out of government. Not a governement that stays out of church, or does not believe in God, or does not adhere to "biblical morals", whether they got them from the bible or not.
The church has to answer to governemt.
which means the government has to stay out of it all together.
Then why do churches need a 501 c 3 ?
because legislating the morality of a specific religion violates the first amendment because it is in effect enforcing the rules of a specific religion over another.
It doesn't matter where you get your morals from. One way is not more right than another.
Just because you can relate a law in governement to a Christian value, does not make it Christian.
you know the difference between science and religion,
I also understand the similarities, and I have covered that before too.
I am asking that one not be more correct than the other, and that we have the freedom to choose whatever moral base we want. I think that is fair.
A scientific study is not a law.

Re: Bunch of crap
Why did they jump from God, to Christianity?
Because they're the ones with the theocratic agenda.
Apparently not.
But your justification for the law has to be its secular purpose, not its appearance in the Bible.
We have a right to believe whatever we want, for whatever reason we want. It is not excluded to secular reasoning.
quote:
Finally, the Court has allowed some entanglement between church and state, as long as this entanglement is not "excessive"
The lemon test was made in 1971, In God we trust was adopted in the 50's, which one holds more water?
The Declaration of Independence is a bit older than that.
The word secular, does not mean atheist.
One less theocrat to muck things up here, if you ask me.
I think your the theocrat, with an agenda.

Re: Bunch of crap
so who's god is the right god?
That's not what I am saying.
I am saying we have a right to believe whatever we want, wether it's atheist or God. One is not more valid than the other.
We the people.

Re: Bunch of crap
because churches should be making prophets, not profits. a 501(c)3 certifies an organization as not-for-profit.
So that just proves that churches must answer to governement.
Our laws dictate what a church is, or isn't.
science is secular. it's not legislated,
Yes it is legislated.
More than church.
So your saying we need to separate science and state, you agree with me?
But not all science, only the one true science, according to the science bible.
Oh wait, nothing is written in stone so mever mind.

Re: Bunch of crap
Or maybe you just got angry that the notions of US history and the basis of our government are not based in Christianity like you thought they were.
No where in any of my posts have I claimed that, but yet you keep thinking that I do.
Stop it.
We are a Christian nation, because we are made up of mostly Christians.
Which by the way means nothing to me, because I do not even feel that most of these so called Chriatians actually behave like Christians, or really make an attempt to.
But one thing is for sure, and that is that the nation was not formed on atheistic values. They believed in God, and wanted freedom of religion. They wanted government and religion to be separated so that religious leaders could not legally tell you what to do. The religious leaders of the day were IMO POS. Sound familiar?
You do know that those questions were all factual in basis, right?
What does that have to do with the price of butter?
Post modern rationalizing is a dying fad schraf, give it up.

You got angry and seemed threatened and upset when presented with the facts.
I am not angry at the facts, but angry at a possible hidden agenda, which some have agreed that there might be one.

In R and D, can you just do what ever you want?
Or are there ethical laws that determine just what you can get away with.
FDA, etc.
