my uncle Say's a buddy of his has connections to some fella in Nashville, and was wanting me to write a "country song" that he could send to him. so i figured; ah why not. so i wrote this today for him to pass on, and was wondering of any opinions. its a slow song, and easy to play. but someone once said country music is just three chords and the truth.
name: anniversary song
you say, you have honored me.
that your body you never have shared.
but if you don't honor me, in other words, or deeds,
have you really, honored your man?
i was hoping you would love me this anniversary.
i was hoping you'd understand.
i give you all my heart and love you see,
and still, i make love to my hand.
there have been times that your eye's have sparkled.
there's been times your body's quivered like a doe.
there's been times you've found comfort, in MY embrace,
but now it seems you've let me go.
we woke up this morning you said you loved me.
and that you've never took another man's embrace.
you say that you have faults, and don't deny them.
while you feel your faultless for having acknowledged just a trace.
i was hoping you would love me this anniversary.
i was hoping that you'd understand.
i give you all my heart and love you see,
so why do i still make love to my hand?
chords: G, A , D first three verses of each paragraph.
last sentence of each set of verses is a full Barr on the third fret. then A, D. play it slow , a short but sweet lead sounds nice between the third and 4th paragraphs.
suitable for a coffee convo?
keep your mind from this way of enquiry, for never will you show that not-being is
