Hah!
I wish I'd seen this thread back in August, when it was still easily breaking 120 every day at Balad, and I coulda laughed at the silly Texans and their delusions of toughness (j/k, Jar!)
Lately, it's been a high in the 50s and a low in the 30s. The whole country froze overnight (barely) a couple of times last week, but this week has warmed up a little.
Mississippi is about the same, from what I hear, but more humid.

Re: Frozen Ex'es in Texas
Guessing from the 95% humidity comment back there, near the coast somewhere, maybe? The further north and west you go, the less likely that is....

Well you could always hang around there and we could let you pick on poor old me next summer. Or...
I'm gonna have to pull a Cornholio on you:
ARE YOU THREATENING ME?!?!
With any luck I'll get out of here before the real winter rains come. We've had two or three days of sprinkles and it was horrendous - it became a world of gluey mud after a fraction of an inch fell. I can't even imagine what real rain does here.
(edit: LOL... I forgot what thread I was in)

Re: Frozen Ex'es in Texas
West Texas is effin' harsh. It doesn't have quite the biggest extremes of temperatures possible, but it's pretty damn close. Then you throw in all the other factors - storms, mesquite, sheer isolation from any kind of help when you need it, and it's just damn inhospitable. Everything about the place seems designed to make life hard.
