Could you design one that actually works on a full scale model?
Could you create a hand built ark 450' long that could float? WHy has no one ever done that to verifiy the account?

I think the poo pump is a rather novel sideshow..a canvas on which to investigate 'technology' rather than something creongineers have been beavering away at.
Patently, in order to make poo you need food - folk seem to assume food was already on board in which case you are talking about a conversion process which would not interfere with the overall seaworthyness of the ark. Me, I thought fishing would be the way to go (involving other simple mechanisms). Once you step outside a closed system the poo-pump becomes a possible necessity But according to the doctrine as I understand it (I haven't really followed it much) there is no need for a poo pump other than for the fun of figuring it out
Could you create a hand built ark 450' long that could float? A poo-pump is a relative trifle to be honest. The main objection lies in the 'fact' that the 'technology didn't exist' (I fail to see the technology involved myself) A 450 ft ark is a different matter. I'm not a boat engineer but general experience tells me that it wouldn't be so very difficult - the lack of detail as to its construction allows for all kinds of novel, lo-tech solutions. Lamination and the like allows for immensely strong structures. But it would be expensive to build anything other than the land bound artist-impression items you see on creo websites. Very, very expensive. Perhaps that is why it hasn't been done.

but now you've convinced yourself that I'm following you. Denial is not just a river in Egypt Schraf... Didn't you know that if you fancy someone real bad but cannot for whatever reason, have them, the thing that you do is argue virulently with them. Ask Larni - he's the psychlogist around here. I rest my case. {AbE} And seeing that you argue most virulently with the fundamentalists around here (who only ever point to Christ) then it means that..oh dear...oh no...) Edited by iano, : No reason given.

Faith speaks of...................a person
Randman speaks of.................a person Little 'ol me speaks of...........a person ...and the person who they speak of is.... _________________________________________________________________________ Holmes speaks of anything-at-all-in-the-world-you-want-to-have, which makes what he points to a tad on the "infinite possibility" side

Two sides of the same works-based coin. In my side, heaven is the default, unless you fuck it up. You seem to think that you have to earn you way into heaven, which I disagree with.
And as I do not know, rest I assuredly cannot. Sucks for you.

So, is a person who believes in 'a depraved' man, that only can be 'saved by the grace of god, his choice' , NOT a christian then?
Or, how about the Mormons? The mormons have all sorts of very unique beliefs. Are they Christian? JW's do not believe in the trinity, and a few other non-traditional items. Are they Christian?

I don't know.
IMHO, the only thing required to be labeled a christian is belief in christ. Ya know, thinking that Jesus was God.

So, by that defintion, the JW's, who deny the divinity of Jesus, are not christians, even though they believe he is the messiah , and God's right hand man?
