More Shenanigans from the Hovind Camp

Although Hovind's videos are put into the public domain (to encourage their propagation) it seems that his organisation is not so happy with fair use.Reports are coming in that they are forcing YouTube to remove critiques which incorporate parts of Hovind's videos - and even some that do not. In addition they have rewritten their webpages to remove the copyright disclaimer. The Panda's Thumb has more

haha, that's not JUST fair use. since they mailed out the videos with a copyright waiver, they have no claim. they waived their copyright.

Doesn't this mean that others can ask YouTube to delete ALL positive content regarding Hovind? Based on the same "copyright"?Loved the video

Ummmm. Fraudulent DMCA notices *are* illegal. DMCA takedown notices have to be made under penalty of perjury stating that the filer represents or is acting with the authority of the copyright holder. If the law firm submitting the notices does not represent the copyright holder, they are very likely guilty of perjury.

They have even forced the removal from youtube of material that was blatantly not theirs. Any video that mentions Kent Hovind was removed under copyright claims by Creation Science Evangelism. I found this out just by chance recently. Thought I'd see what YouTube had on Hovind, and goodness me, look at all those vids that have been censored by CSE. After a little initial frustration, I had a good laugh. They're so supremely confident in their position aren't they.
