Speaking of which... ahem, Admin, is there a compelling reason why we cannot have that checkbox permanently checked?
One of the items on my list of things to do (Volume 8, I think) is to change the way signatures are handled. The new approach would make signatures similar to avatars (ie, changes are reflected everywhere immediately, God bless Server Side Includes), and they would no longer be made a permanent part of messages by appending their text to the end. I could at the same time add a setting to the user profile so that you could elect to have the signature box always checked.
I don't know what the problem is, though. After several thousand messages I find myself remembering to check the box nearly half the time now.

ggrr...testing new avatar...it shows up in this thread but no where else.
While changes from one avatar image to another will be instantaneously reflected, changing from non-display of avatar to display of avatar requires that old HTML pages be regenerated. This is because these old HTML pages were generated at a point in time when you had specified that your avatar should not be displayed, and so they included no HTML image tag for your avatar. As soon as people post messages and cause the HTML pages to be regenerated your image will appear. You're doing nothing wrong.
