Re: Bump
Here in the USA we are morons when it comes to growing pot, the variety that would be grown for non-drug uses is worthless to smoke, anyone who has run across wild hemp growing can vouch for that. There was several states trying to get the DEA to approve it.
quote:
Vermont and North Dakota have passed laws enabling hemp licensure. Both states are waiting for permission to grow hemp from the DEA. Currently, North Dakota representatives are pursuing legal measures to force DEA approval.[79] Oregon has licensed industrial hemp as of August 2009.[80]
quote:
There are broadly three groups of Cannabis varieties being cultivated today:
Varieties primarily cultivated for their fiber, characterized by long stems and little branching, extreme red, yellow, blue or purple coloration, or thickness of stem and solid core, such as hemp Cannabis oglalas, and more generally called industrial hemp.
Varieties grown for hemp seed oil which is high in protein and essential fatty acids and has no psychoactive properties.
Varieties grown for medicinal, spiritual development or recreational purposes.
A nominal, if not legal distinction is often made between hemp, with concentrations of the psychoactive chemical THC far too low to be useful as a drug, and Cannabis used for medical, recreational, or spiritual purposes.

Re: It's evil!
Is it just a hangover (no pun intended) from those black and white "Reefer Madness" films?
I think so and to some extent the churches here in USA have far too much influence in politics. Here in NC we have a dry county just to my south, not too many of them left but there is still a few. No alcohol sales at all on Sunday in SC. With backwards thinking like that it's no wonder people are morons when it comes to their knowledge of drugs, specifically cannabis.

Re: It's evil!
The people who can legalize it think the only people who enjoy weed are "pot head stoner losers".
Cheech and Chong done legalization a bit of a disservice by helping promote a negative stereotype.

Re: It's evil!
The last government adviser that suggested legalizing drugs ended up being sacked.
It would be political suicide here in the religious south to be an advocate.
What I don't understand is why our govt wont allow it to be grown even for industrial uses? It, hemp, has been an important part of our history in the US up until shortly after WW2 or there about, I wonder what changed as far as allowing it to be used for fiber and as animal feed. Maybe the people who manufacture synthetics ect.. played a part in its demonetization.

Re: It's evil!
I am sure there is more than one piece to the puzzle, and that sounds like one of them.
I just Google to to learn a bit more and found a little on it, cant vouch for the source, but it would be easy to check the facts if one wanted to. Sound just about right to me.
source
quote:
Ok. So we have an elite group of special interests dominated by Du Pont petrochemical company and it's major financial backer and key political ally, Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon. Mellon was a banker who took over Gulf Oil Corporation. In 1913, Henry Ford opened his first auto assembly line, and Gulf Oil opened its first drive-in gas station. In 1919, with ethanol fuel poised to comptete with gasoline, Alchohol Prohibition descended on the nation. Lucky Mellon. When President Harding made him Secretary of the Treasury, he was considered the richest man in America. In the 1920's, Mellon arranged for his bank to loan his buddies as Du Pont money to take over General Motors. Du Pont had developed new gasoline additives and the sulfate and sulfite process that made trees into paper.
What it goes on to explain is how hemp would've been unwanted competition for several industries and how the powers that be made sure that wasn't going to happen

Not me
If the military ever conduct tests like this ever again i am applying.
I cannot imagine a worse experience on acid...around a bunch of armed and well trained killers...shit could've went real bad. I am sure they didn't have no bullets, but still had entrenching tools and bayonets. Tripping at a good music festival would be a much more pleasant experience.... Paintball tripping might be fun though.

Re: Not me
Throwing glowsticks back and forth in one of these was fucking awesome:
I bet! If you know what Disk Golf is then playing a "glow" round if way fun too... just tossing anything that glows in the dark is awesome. Haven't done that kind or thing in 12 or 15 years..getting old.

Re: Not me
Interesting, thanks.
I guess in, retrospect, I was on the cuff of hallucinogens, LSD and mushrooms mostly, being more of a hippie/deadhead ect... thing to move to the ecstasy/club scene that hallucinogens have seemed to moved towards today. I myself have never done any x so I cant say why it has moved that way.
The most fun I have had is when I thought I have done way too much, been disturbing a few times, but after the peak it was like WOW, That was fun.

Re: Not me
Totally the best time to do acid is at night in the woods with a fire.
Yes, I've tripped a few times while hiking. Every time was different, some very introspective...others just plain hilarious for no good reason.

Re: Cloud 9
It totally makes you stoned as fuck
Is it cheap as weed? Say 40$ for 1/4 oz of decent mid?

Re: Not me
LOL... That's called an elevator here in the US. Usually the hyperventilating is followed by a bong hit....then your dumb-ass friend squeezes you to prevent a good breath from entering your lungs...when you loose conciseness, due to lack of oxygen, he hopefully sets you down carefully while you shake like a fish out of water.... aint brain damage cool?

Re: Not me
Hi granny,
I have seen a few things recently about using MDMA as a treatment for post traumatic stress disorder here in the US. As I have said I have never done it but Knowing how connected LSD, Shrooms has made me feel then I think it is a reasonable field of study.

Re: Comparing MDMA and LSD
Hi,
Acid trips are something I these days avoid
I couldn't agree more with you. As I approach 40 I dont think I want to try MDMA either? LSD/shrooms always screwed with me longer then I want...I LIKE TO SLEEP. The next day is always the worst...seems like weed has no effect...grey is only word that comes to mind.
When I was younger I loved to trip, and did so way too much. LSD is unpredictable, IMO. One time it's all funny...or introspective...or you have an epiphany...or maybe just get "The Fear"...Or all of the above...That's no fun for most adults.
