If the various bits of the Bible are rife with socio-politically oriented bias from the authors how can anyone claim the Bible can be trusted about the nature of Yaweh or Jesus or anything it purports to be true.
Very little in the Bible tells us about the nature of Yahweh anyway. Jesus is slightly different and again, to understand what the Bible is teaching us about Jesus requires study and work as well as reading in and understanding context.
But that is true of every historical document.
Remember I mentioned that the Old Testament was built around three different collections, Laws or Instruction, the Prophets and lastly Writings.
The New Testament is also a collection of collections; the four Gospels, a semi historical text called Acts of the Apostles, various interoffice memos called Epistles and an apocalyptic tale.
The four Gospels are tales about a character called Jesus. They are similar to tales you might find about any historical character and just as we find with other books the four accounts agree on some points and disagree on others. But they were not the only gospels or without having been edited and redacted over time.
Let me try to give you an example. Consider what many Christians consider the charter statement on what Christians Disciples are supposed to do, what is called The Great Commission.

Just as when you are looking at historical accounts of Mary I of England you need to examine the story within the context of the author.
Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!
