Why would moral men write up God to be such an immoral prick as compared to Satan?
If we're talking about the Old Testament, I don't think it casts either in a favorable light.
You asked whether the Bible was the word of God or Satan, but the answer is neither. Men (and women) of all ilks wrote every book ever written, including the Bible.
After counting the bodies, how can you say that both Satan and God are both shown in an unfavorable light?
After counting the bodies? Are you seriously claiming that the one with the fewer murders is being portrayed favorably? Anyway, it requires no inventory to know that the Bible recounts many more murders on God's behalf than Satan's.
We're interested in the Bible because of people such as yourself who use it as the basis for various absurd claims, such as that homosexuality is an abomination, a point touched on in this scene of President Bartlet excoriating a Dr. Laura-like talk show host in The West Wing:
Stop pushing the absurd claims onto the rest of the nation and we'll stop being interested.
And giving a nod to the topic, the Bible was written by men.
Well, Dawn, if you're going to insist on being absurd and ridiculous, could you at least be on-topic about it? This isn't the Coffee House, it's a forum for constructive discussion. Do you have anything to say about Biblical authorship?
I think if you follow the Forum Guidelines (which are neutral with regard to position on any issue) by discussing the topic that you'll have nothing to worry about. Or you could just continue carrying on like you are.
As a participant in this thread I do not plan on taking on a moderator role, but should that become necessary then the process I usually follow is to announce that I am recusing myself from discussion and then begin moderating two days hence.
