The NYT allows non-subscribers 10 free articles or columns per month for free, while the Washington Post allows no access to non-subscribers.
Odd. I have never had a problem accessing Washington Post.
You can get around this if you know how to disable Javascript for individual websites.
Okay. It must be because I use "noscript" with firefox.
By the way, I'm against stealing content, I'd like to pay for what I read, but there are many news websites out there and I, like many others I'm sure, cannot afford to subscribe to more than a couple of them.
Yes, my view is similar. I would really like to see nytimes, wapo, and several other papers get together and form a consortium. The idea would be that you could be a paid subscriber to the consortium, and then pick and choose which articles you want to read.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Those aren't lies.
They are all false statements that Trump made. But Trump believes all of them, so they weren't lies. He wasn't asserting what he believed to be false.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Then why is Trump working so hard, and so naively openly and overtly, to obstruct the Mueller investigation?
For the same reason that he won't release tax returns. He's got something to hide.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Ian Walters, a spokesperson for CPAC said that in a speech at CPAC that Mr. [Michael] Steele was chosen as [RNC] chairman because he is a black guy.
Of course he was. I guess they didn't explain to Steele (and probably didn't know how to explain), that he was their token black.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

How will Trump deal with this, especially given his strong condemnation of Obama for allowing Russia to annex the Crimea?
He will pretend to get tough on Russia. That might be enough to fool his supporters, but he won't really get tough. He has shown that he is not willing to get tough on Russia.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

I wonder if it is possible I need to be logged in or registered with twitter?
No. I am neither registered nor logged in. However, if you use "noscript" then you do need to allow scripting from twitter.comFundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Anyone know what's Obama's terrible crimes were?
I'm assuming it is that he conspired to be born black.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

It is always dangerous to be complacent. Nevertheless, I am cautiously optimistic about the upcome election -- optimistic but not complacent.

It is good that he wore a mask. But no, that isn't any reason for re-election.

And Trump’s supporters don’t realise just how extensively they’re repeating the mistakes which led to the rise of Nazism.
Worse, still -- maybe some of them do realize it.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

I see Trump now claims to understand Corona virus. He 'gets' it.
Correction. He got it, but he still doesn't get it.
If he only gets things that he's got, maybe he'll now get free health care?
He will never get that. For Trump, there's a huge distinction between him getting something free and anybody else getting something free.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

But rather than taking responsibility for their disaster the Republicans - in state and in Washington - are trying to stifle investigation and cast blame elsewhere.
I'll give credit to Trump for one thing. He has unmasked the Republicans. It is now quite clear how evil they are, and how evil they have been for some time.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

The GOP have done a pretty effective job of destroying themselves.
The only remaining issue is whether they will destroy the rest of us in the process.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

Is it a factor that American society has become so used to having belief (in other words, evangelist Christianity) pushed past evidence, that the right wing populists can sell their false narrative to people, in the total absence of evidence for that narrative.
Yes, I think so. Among evangelicals, there is a lot of peer pressure pushing fundamentalism. And this seems to be taken as believing absurd things, as long as the Bible supposedly says them. Typically, what the Bible supposedly says comes from the pastor rather than from actually reading the Bible.
People have, in short, become used to being brainwashed.
Yes, you have many people trained to be extremely gullible.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity
