And where does he think all that "urban" heat is going? What makes him think that urban heat is somehow temporary or local as opposed to existing on this planet? Where does he think all that "temporary" heat goes?
This is exactly the kind of pseudo-science pap, smoke and mirrors and misdirection the denialists earn their living from selling books to weak-minded anti-science anti-human idiots. Don't be one of these, Faith.Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.

I think the idea was that if you measure the heat in such an area you aren't getting the true reading of global warming heat, that's all. But I may be misrepresenting the guy, I haven't read his book or any of the other skeptic books.
Don't be one of these, Faith. Well, I should probably not have checked out the skeptics at this point in the conversation. I need to go back to the main argument. But I'm not going to conclude that it's OK to destroy America by unfair regulations when the rest of the world is doing nothing. I'llsupport every kind of measure we can come up with otherwise. And again, we do a lot it seems to me, both individually and collectively. Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

Every single person that i have met who is a believer in Jesus being alive today sees the bible saying nearly the same thing...with some added insights. Though i question the sincerity and motive of all people...i feel i can discern who believes and who doubts. And every doubter whom i have known...no matter how educated...always reduces scripture to another fallible book yet has the audacity to proclaim that the interpretation of morality assumes us to be the authority. Granted we choose what we believe and what we do. The fact is the world wont survive the next 100 years even if we all agreed to cooperate. Humans will indeed get the world they want. If they ignore God it will be their resonsibility and loss. May He have mercy anyway.
********************************* Add by Edit: what difference does it make whether the last days are brought on by human greed and entitlement or Divine Destiny and Judgment? It may be an economic collapse and an uncomfortable truth. It may be because we run out of water. It may be global warming. Prayer and fasting themselves ate the beginning of a solution. Humans need to find a common purpose. Edited by Thugpreacha, : No reason given.Chance as a real force is a myth. It has no basis in reality and no place in scientific inquiry. I'd call that a false dichotomy.

That's a great example of how he lies.
Temperatures are made using a variety or techniques from a variety of locations including scanning from satellites. The man is simply utterly without honor or ethics.

I think the idea was that if you measure the heat in such an area you aren't getting the true reading of global warming heat. I hope you don't think a few hundred thousand urban readings can outweigh the 10s of millions of global readings we take each year. I hope you don't think that 10s of thousands of scientists would miss something some self-aggrandizing climate charlatan says "may" be overlooked. I hope you realize that the $$ few million per year motive schools may have for climate science studies is far outweighed by Big Carbon's $$$ motive of $10 billion per day. Don't bother reading many of the climate charlatans. Other than the occasional jewish banking conspiracy or the "Jhina" hoax conspiracy or the Illuminati/Masons/Lizard People quest for world domination conspiracies, they all have the same false, misleading and mistaken arguments.
But I'm not going to conclude that it's OK to destroy America by unfair regulations when the rest of the world is doing nothing. At least the rest of the world gets together to discuss the issues. We can't be bothered to attend. Edited by AZPaul3, : No reason given.Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.

The urban heat island idea was the one Richard Muller was testing - and trying to prove. He found out that global warming was real. As discussed here Climate Change Denier comes in from the cold: SCIENCE!!!
No moderate would be arguing that now. It’s been refuted.

This guy Watts mentions Muller. Maybe that's where he got some of his point of view. But he also said that Muller was relying on heat meansurements back when they put thermometers any old where, in the shade, or in the hot sun or anyway where they'd get false readings. And I don't remember what point he was making about all that. Never mind, I just need to get back to the main topic.

quote: I believe that Muller used to argue that. But as I pointed out he actually investigated it and found out that it didn’t really make a difference. The temperature has been increasing. And Watts is NOT a moderate. He’s a hard-core denier.

There are many vastly more qualified to represent the USofA on the world stage than I.
I am content with jawboning the heretics.Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.

In any case I recognize that there is global warming. In fact that's not really new, but now I've learned some of the science about how it happens that I hadn't known.
Nevertheless I will fight the recommendations that put the US economy back in the dark ages, and that includes shutting down our oil and coal production, in spite of our actual changes to fix the problem, while ignoring the rest of the world's real contributions to the problem.

First, no one has suggested shutting down oil & coal production although it would be wise to price both including their contribution to the carbon footprint. What has been suggested is that we use less and less of both until there is no longer a market for either. Then we need to force the oil and coal companies the mitigate the damage they have done to the environment. But this stupid administration is trying stop all our efforts to reduce the domestic demand for petroleum products. TRUMP == STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

quote: And yet here you citing a falsified argument against it, from a hardcore denier as a moderate view. That hardly adds up.
quote: There are plenty of recommendations that fall well short of that. US coal production is going out of business for economic reasons anyway. And how do you feel about car manufacturers choosing to produce more efficient and less polluting vehicles ? Would you send the DoJ after them for that ?

You could probably find a more effective collection of heretics to jawbone somewhere besides EvC.
