Hey there. Been lurking a bit off and on for the last year or so, but haven't actually posted in ages. Trying to stay on top of news and science topics, but I noticed I'm a bit rusty with articulating a argument myself lately, so I might try to start posting actively again. And besides, I'm a bit fond of this place, had good times here. People still remember me?

The Hangout
I dont really remember you but im glad that you feel comfortable here. We have all gotten to "know" each other informally (as much as the internet allows) and EvC has indeed become a nice place to hang out. In fact, if you go back in the archives, you can get a more complete picture of how many of our members think....its often interesting to follow old topics and arguments...if one has time for such things, anyway. I have no kids, so I have more time than most....though I limit my internet activity to under two hours daily....there is no substitute for real life and communion with neighbors and local friends. Anyway...have a nice week.

When I use a word, Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather scornful tone, it means just what I choose it to meannothing more nor less.

Re: The Hangout
I like this place because even now it has a lot of focused discussion, but it's not so overly large you get drowned out. And even with my relatively low post count this place has had a role in my development. Hopefully I'll find a topic I can jump in, and even when not posting places like this keep the gears grinding.

The software helps a lot too.
I can't stand other discussion sites where the posts are not linked together.
I'll see where one person is quoting another, but when there's no link to the message that they are quoting from, then I cannot go back and read the context and see where the conversation is stemming from.
There will be pages and pages of posts but they are not organized by which is in response to which, so I have no way to follow any single discussion.
People still remember me?
I remember you, but I don't think we debated anything.

Me too. No matter what, this calming blue background will always give me a certain nostalgic/comfortable feeling.

Yeah. It's hard to think of a better place on the Internet.
