The SETI project needs more volunteers. Since the upgrade at Arecibo, the flow of incoming data has increased 500 fold. The new influx of data will require additional computing power. Right now there are about 170,000 of us helping with the calculations, but many more will be required if we are going to process the flow of about 100 Terrabytes a year.
​
If you are already running the BOINC agent for the Grid Project, you can simply add SETI@home.

Just a warning, though. Last time I installed the SETI program, I ended up with a virus that screwed up my computer and my anti-virus couldn't do a thing about it. It may have been a coincidence that I got the virus at roughly the same time I got the SETI program. I ended up having to reformat the harddrive.

If this doesn't happen to anyone else, then I'm sure it was just a coincidence.
