The law in this country doesn't care what churches validate as "marriage." Never has, never will. If you want to go the St. Looney up the Cream Bun and Jam church and have them solemnize your marriage to your Aunt George, his pet squirrel and the Astrodome, the law won't give one whit, as long as you don't appear to be a threat to yourself or others.
This means to me that things are well in place for adopting NosyNed's proposal.

Yeah, I agree. We need a War on Bigotry to go along with all the others. But just remember this: bigotry is a relative thing entirelty based on opinions. Bigotry can also be defined as uncivilized reactions to other people's opinions. When you live in a democracy you have to put with majority opinions. Some have called it "the tyranny of the majority." I don't agree with all of the majority opinions, but I don't go around calling bigotry on those whose opinions differ from mine.
