No problem i had the same problems, im used to clicking on a box marked quote that writes the code for you.

im used to clicking on a box marked quote that writes the code for you. The board software used to and probably still does have the option of a "reply with quote" button, which would be located at the bottom of the individual messages by the other reply button. There was a past history of bad things often happening when this function was used, so it was disabled. Even if things didn't get fouled up, you could end up with multiple layers of quotes within quotes and in general way too much bulk in what was getting quoted. Even worse, people would sometimes edit down or break up into smaller chucks what was getting quoted. This is indeed a good thing to do, but too often the coding would get done incorrectly resulting is a giant mess of a message. It took a lot of administrative time and effort to try to fix said messes, thus the option had to go. See also the Reply Quote function button to be disabled topic from back in 2003. Can you describe the symptoms? For example, is the problem that you see no edit button? Or do you submit the edit but then don't see the changes? Can you edit in other threads?

I am unable to reproduce the problem in the Bush's Shia Islamic War Vs Obama's Sunni War thread. Is that the right thread? If so, can you check if the problem still exists? Some of the changes in the recent update were improvements to the edit code.

My take was that what buz was reporting was due to a temporary database sync problem.

I still can't edit my message 42 in that thread. The error message that I'm getting now is "Validation error. Sorry." I also tried to edit my message 56 and I have the same problem. I haven't had editing problems in any other thread. ABE: I can edit this message. Edited by ringo, : Test.

Strange, I just tested edit at Message 6 and had no problems.
Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!
