I agree with Andor, and I also with to clarify why many of us on the science side are here.
There is a very real threat from radical fundamentalist Christians in this country to get their religion taught in public schools along side of, or instead of, the Theory of Evolution, the Big Bang, etc. These issues have gone to court several times, and you might remember the latest debacle in Kansas when the school board there stopped requiring science teachers to teach the ToE.
I don't particularly care what kinds of religious views people hold as long as they do not impinge upon the rights of others. Since this vocal, powerful minority does with to impinge upon our rights to be free from state-sponsored religion, I have something to say about it.
I also have strong feelings about the misrepresentation and distortion of science that these religious groups perpetrate.
