Do fundalmentalist religions instill bigotry?
After following the thread on gay marriage and reading some of the comments made by RoseCotton I began to wonder if perhaps many fundalmentalist religions have ingrained within they're dogma many of the bigotted concepts that we see in the world today. I would be curious to hear others comments.
I feel this could be a coffee house thread. And hope to keep the discussion on a friendly but candid level. I personally am beginning to see a link between fundalmentalism/religious fantaticism and bigotry. Case in point is the US against THEM mentality . *edit title.

Re: Do fundalmentalist religions instill bigotry?
From a Faith perspective, I would say that a short answer to your question is "Yes". My reasoning is based on the fact that once a law is given, humans break it. The Ten commandments is a good example. The people wanted laws, they got them, and then broke them.
For a fundie of any ilk, laws are aplenty, and the opportunity to break them grows larger the more conservative and fundamentalist one becomes.
