I always go to
Audacity download | SourceForge.net to see if they have released the new version of this amazing program (great for recording and writing songs - as well as transfer tapes to mp3 or whatever). They haven't for ages though - but that doesn't stop me hoping.
I just fell in love with google maps, though you probably know that one already.
Probably the coolest site is
Old Bailey Online - The Proceedings of the Old Bailey, 1674-1913 - Central Criminal Court - where you can view historical court proceedings from the 18th and 18th centuries. Its fascinating. Sometimes funny, sometimes very sad.
