Re: interesting ...
Razd (or anyone else since I cannot get that link to work) - if you get a moment sent it to me at deaddropbox@REMOVETHISANTISPAMBITgmail.com I have a number of tools that may allow me to just rip all the text off.
(oh and if anyone still wants a gmail account I have 50 of them to hand out).

Re: university of georgia
I think in the morning I will turn this into an excel - this has a number of benefits:
I can generate free text from it for here but..
we can more alter and add emails easier
we can fire off the questionnaire or questions in one go (I can produce a bulk email list)
we can color-code the individuals by level of response etc.
But yes I'll hand the master.

Re: university of washington
yes I agree - I'll do a proper list in the morning but many seem to be grad students.

Ok are we ready to step up? (Calling all members for help)
If we want to do this we need to get organised and therefore can I suggest the following?
Activity 1: contact details
I would suggest that the first objection is to obtain contact details for the people on the list, clearly this activity is on-going. I am happy to keep hold of the master list for this (and try and track down some of the names). Arch seems to be a fine taskmaster so I reckon he's the best man to keep an eye on this.
Activity 2: questions and question areas
The second aspect is to start to come up with the questions that we want to sent out. I suggest that we start a sister thread to this one to co-ordinate and discuss the questions that we want to ask?
Activity 3: Technical issues around sending out survey and collecting results
I have a number of ideas about the most effective way to do this but I think we need to settle 1&2 first?

Re: Is an excercise physiologist a scientist
Clearly I think we need to get an idea of their current involvement in science and if the titles given by the DI are correct.
(This is the other reason that the excel would be handy - we can colour-code the sciences and also generate graphs and the like).

Re: one we won't be able to contact
Well I looked last night and I couldn't actually see any in the actual text (and they should have lifted with the rest of text anyway) - I take a more detailed look later - after I get back from breakfast.

Re: I'm concerned this may not be a good idea...
I can understand the concern but at the end of the day we are sending out a polite short questionnaire - they either answer it or not.

Re: I'm concerned this may not be a good idea...
I think we are totally upfront - "you are listed as having signed the document and as we are interested in this debate we were wondering if your views have shifted since you did and would you be so kind to complete our short survey" (more polished than that of course but that's the nub of it).
I still think a websurvey is the best way forward, they can complete it with no name required (unless they want to make an additional comment and want to identify themselves in some manner).
Percy is right that it serves no purpose at all in terms of evidence but then nothing at all we do here does that. I think it's at least a geniune attempt to engage with the supporters of ID and try and better understand their position. I honestly don't see the harm in that.
As for the email issue - if we can google and find it, then anyone who wants to contact them can google and find it.
In regards to point of contact - I am quite happy to be the person who puts his name at the bottom of the mail along with a short history about myself and my background, further contact details and so on.

and what about cross referencing opinion with field and qualifications?
First two questions pull-down or tickbuttons for age/qualification?
