Other than having a moderator for each topic, I can't think of any way to avoid this. Perhaps, simply an occasional reminder among debaters would be a good idea or am I wrong and this doesn't really matter to anyone?
IT MATTERS, IT MATTERS!!
The meandering is natural, but people could post new topics when it happens. The job of the moderators is to encourage this, and I'd open the new topics myself during these early days when people are getting the feel of the new format, except that I'm in a busy period right now.
I'm looking for a few people on both sides to help with moderating
The Great Debate, I think a total of four moderators would eventually be good. The other forums should need only the most occasional moderating.
As I shake the bugs out I'll be promoting this forum more and more aggressively, so with time it will hopefully become a very busy place, and the additional moderators will be very important. Right now I'd settle for a single Creationist volunteer moderator.
