Re: Calico cats
Rumor has it, both Percy and I are "cat people".
M: Wasnt cat people a movie about a group of people who could transform into black panthers? Wow if you and Percy are cat people then both salty and Lamark were right ....and if it was in a movie it must be true....and Grasse would agree with me if he was not dead

Re: Calico cats
I am humbled by the fact that you could find that poster
Is the panther in the picture semi-meoitic?

For anyone interested in meiosis (how it really works) the above link is kind of cool.
If you want a comedy version of how meiosis works read salty's manifesto on semi-meiosis

Re: and back off topic
Reluctantly I have to admit I have seen the 80's version of the movie...it starred Natasha Kinski and Malcolm McDowell...about the only thing I remember about the movie was (well the semi-pornish parts I remember ) and the scene where the panther bites off the arm of one of the zoo keepers....otherwise, I don't even remember what or if the movie had a plot...the movie was a prime candidate to be satired on shows like Mystery Science Theater 3000 which did a commendable job making movies like "The Head that Would not Die" even more ridiculous...

Re: On topic
Your hypothesis defines your character as mindless
You ended up in the unmoderated forum because you could not get your posts up to snuff.
One of these days I am going to provide a concordance of the supporting evidence you have provided for the semi-meiotic hypothesis...it will consist of absolutely nothing...but it will have the virtue of taking up no disk space.

Re: Calico cats
However, without a citation from the peer-reviewed literature in support of this claim, I have no reason to take your "rumor" as anything but an unsupported assertion. Perhaps Mammuthus can dig one up...
Hmmm that is a tough one...however I will give it a shot...

Re: On topic
As for debate, debate has no place in science
M: Hmm where did you ever learn that? Debate and criticism are integral parts of science.
S: All that matters is the truth, and that has only to be discovered.
M: What does this sentence have to do with the relevance of debate to science?...I could replace truth with "whereabouts of Elvis" and it would retain the same degree of significance.
S: Go insult each other.
M: But you are so much more cuddly and responsive
You also seem to be fed up with evading questions and with your own inability to defend or support your hypothesis I take it?
I guess conceding defeat is your only recourse...

Re: Calico cats
How could management of night-time urinary incontinence not be considered relevant?...Grasse would agree with me and so would some other dead people. and I feel no need to defend myself from such (DOGTHINK). Debate is not a part of incontinence, the truth is incontinence...but if you need a reference read the manifesto..any manifesto..page 6576
..whoa..back out of salty mode

Hmmm your local bookmaker looks remarkably similar to salty himself!
He will probably post before Friday!
Even Elvis has not exited the building as many times as salty

Re: accuracy
Dan Dan Dan...don't you realize even questioning salty's assertions are an insult to salty, Grasse, Elvis, and any dead former member of Menudo? Tsk tsk..how dare you question an unsupported assertion or point out a logical fallacy ....that could lead to questions..and what then??? Chaos..anarchy...the making of Grease into a trilogy..oh the agony

Re: accuracy
Dan posts this: (Salty, if I'm misinterpreting what you said here, please let me know. Additionally, I haven't had time to read your other papers yet. You might explain it there.)
Salty says in response to Dan: I meant exactly what I said. Thank you very much.
M: And salty wonders why more people don't support his hypothesis?
hey salty...could you please define the following (this is certainly not in your papers)
What is a hypothesis?
Evidence?
A Dawinian/Darwinist?
The difference between evidence and assertion?
Summarize how meiosis actually occurs? (you may feel free to cheat by going to the link I posted earlier today...it is even animated)
Thanks in advance

Re: accuracy
It seems that Ricky Martin's career died..so that is pretty close...kind of like salty's academic career...or his run for governor of Vermont...actually, other than Martin can anyone name another member of Menudo?...it may be way off topic...but hey what's the Free for All for otherwise ?

Re: accuracy
Yes salty...you should have fun at ARN...they also don't know anything about science and require no evidence for their assertions...the typical "evidence of ID is everywhere" drivel that they (and you) post there is similar to the alcoholic swearing that the pink elephant he sees is real....
Unless you will stun us now with the first ever evidence of ID?

Re: Incredible
That is part of the reason why I posted message 84 with a link to a site that had a description of meiosis including a lot of drawings and animations...to see if salty would look at it and attempt to argue that his version of what does or can occur during meiosis is correct and that what everyone else learned is false.
Salty blew it off and has most likely retreated to Terry's site and ARN to mumble into his beer as I believe Mr. Pamboli described it...but the bet is still running that he posts before Saturday
new bet...his post will be short, off topic, contentless, and full of rightous indignation.

Re: Incredible
Though I am not familiar with the cast of characters at ARN, the link you posted shows salty being taken to task for having been an irresponsible professor for neglecting his duties to teach evolution. Pixie (who I gather is a creationsit or IDist as she says she sympathizes with salty's position) is really ripping into him about it...given that his posts are identical to his initial posts at EvC..it is only a matter of time before he goes into a tantrum
It seems the guy cannot find the hero worship he so craves...anywhere.
