I asked you if one of your previous posts could be summarized as follows:
So in other words, you're willing to doubt all the evidence your five "sentences" provide and conclude that the world may not exist, and at the same time assume the existence of a being that you cannot experience with any of your senses. Have I got it about right? Either that is what you said, or it is not what you said. A or ~A. There are no other alternatives. Well, I guess there is one other alternative, dodge and refuse to answer. No I have been reading these posts here for a year or so and never wanted much to join in the fray. I was happy just reading other folks thoughts on the matter. Recently however I have seen some of the ridiculousness come to such an extent that I felt... Hey if every other person on here can make outlandish claims with nothing more than a "well that's what was written down 5000 years ago, why wouldn't it be the truth" attitude. Why not me. So to answer your question. Yes, I loved the "not a topic for the sane or like minded chocolate bars" statement so much I had to pay it homage with the name. Though in fairness if Sysamu had not made me realize, that us chocolate bars could make decisions I wouldn't have even thought to begin participating. I figured with all these atheastists and fundys running around who will be the voice for the chocolate bars. Oh buy the way, best evidence for god..... Chocolate. All praise to the lord for it's chocolaty goodness.

Are you kidding? Chocolate is terrible evidence for God! He made it so yummy, but so bad for us. If he really loved us, a typical visit to the doctor would run like this;
Doctor: Now, are you eating enough chocolate? Patient: Yes Doc. Doctor: Good, because you can't have too much of the stuff you know. Also be sure that you're getting enough of your other major food groups, like cake and nachos. See you next year! So if someone taught you as truth that the world was made of chocolate and you could get this by digging 50 meters would you believe that, too?

According to my logic, there is no such thing as a what if. The idea that anything else "could" happen has no logical basis.

I gave you exactly what I said in the exact words that I wrote. So the literal answer to your question (if it has to be yes or no) has to be no. And this is my answer, no.

You have made no refutation to my claim. You simply assume that I could have been born into any other religion. But, I already said that I can not even prove that other people exist, let alone a whole other set of beliefs. As far as I am concerned there is no proof that other beliefs even exist.

Why is my statement any more illogical than
I can believe this book because it was taught to me as truth. Just 'cause it was taught to you as truth doesn't make it so. quote: As far as I am concerned, there's no proof that you or your beliefs exist. And so long as each of us puts any weight on that ridiculous proposition, there's nothing more to discuss. This, of course, is the problem with your hyper-skepticism. It ends all possible debate. You can dismiss anything and everything that anyone says by responding that you simply don't believe it, without the slightest examination of the weight or validity of any of the evidence. This is not "real skepticism." It is indistinguishable from you simply repeating "nuh uh" to everything anybody says. And while this can be an effective schoolyard tactic, it's certainly not debate. That is correct. You have no proof that I exist or that my beliefs exist. But this has nothing to do with me. You may just be a figment of my imagination. All I know for a fact is that I was not conscious forever, and therefore someone must have caused this illusion. Whoever created me also made the illusion of you. He may want me to debate you, or he may not even want me to debate you. All I know is that I was born being taught certain things as truth. If whoever created me did not want me to consider these things as truth, He would have created me with parent illusions that were teaching me something else. This is completely logical. Theoretically, if you actually did exist (of course I can never prove that you do), and you were taught that the world had no meaning, you would have no reason to believe that the world does have any meaning. However, I have no way of showing with any evidence that there is a possibility that I would have been born in any other situation. Just because these situations seem to exist in my own illusion does not prove that other people actually do exist.

bluescat48 writes: Just 'cause it was taught to you as truth doesn't make it so. Unfortunately, I cannot prove this statement either. Because whoever did create my illusionary life, started my life with people telling me what was the truth. If I wanted to change my belief I would first have to prove this one to be false. Then I would search for another purpose for me being created.
