I have recently came across the creationist argument that the earth's magnetic field indicates that the earth is relatively young. I've done some research to prove otherwise, and I would appreciate any help.

Basically that the earth has changed charge on its poles several times in its existence which would allow the magnetic decay to be lengthened and allow for the Earth to be 4 billion years old. But that's about it...

"I have recently came across the creationist argument that the earth's magnetic field indicates that the earth is relatively young. I've done some research to prove otherwise, and I would appreciate any help. "
--The argument is old, elementary, frivolous, and any current advocate doesn't know what he is talking about.
-Edit - Keep in mind, this from the YECist point of view.
