Although you would have to be an absolute masochist to try and start a thread about cricket The Ashes. But I tried.

I suppose you could say that I support my local team Crystal Palace. Have taken my sonto a couple of matches this season.

In Champions league terms I guess I sorta vaguely support the English teams when they are playing. I enjoy watching Barca and Real.

I wish Arsenal (another London team) would do a bit better...

It took Fergie about 7 years in charge to win his first title with Manchester United. It took about 3 years to win any trophy at all with them.

Of course we now know how it ended. Pretty darn well. But I doubt any manager of such a high profile team would be given such leeway to these days.

I doubt we will see any single manager be so successful with one team again.
