(1+5e-2)/2
The circumference of the rings on a tree divided by the one before it = 1.618
This one is false, as you would be able to tell from looking at tree rings, because they vary in thickness due to climate. I have a feeling a number of the other ones are also false. Lenghts of limbs vary for different people. The Nautilus however is true.
The greeks knew this ratio (they named it the "golden ratio" because they felt if was a harmoniously shaped rectangle and used it often in their architecture - the base of the Parthenon for one). It is the ratio of length to width of a rectangle needed to cut a square off a rectangle and have a rectangle remaining that is proportionally the same - from that you can derive the above formula.
It is also the ratio of the 'diagonal' of a pentagon to a side (which you can prove mathematically) -- and now you can draw a perfect pentagram.
Read the DaVinci Code for more (relates to a famous sketch of his and the proportions of limbs - the man spread-eagled on a star in a circle), but ...
... assuming it is evidence? Why is it any more evidence than pi or e or ..... ? I would be more impressed if they all were a rational numbers ... if you ask me.
ps - there is a poster on the board with 1.618 for a nickname.

Re: Abby Leever= Rocket retriever
well you can say (51/2+1)/2 but
...
I can also say (51/2-1)/2 is the ratio from a different perspective.
and they cancel each other

Re: (1+5e-2)/2
perhaps it should be based on the square root of -1
