I'm new here, please don't kill me.

I'm not exactly going to tell you what I look like, but I'm a Christian for 8 years, and I strongly believe in the bible's teachings, and I believe in creation.I find the theories that scientists come up with about the origin of the universe and how we got here interesting, but I don't believe any of it.I'll leave you with one fact, and tell me what you think.There is discussion about how long the 6 days were when God created everything. Theistic evolutionists (people who try to blend evolution into the bible) make the bible sound wrong here. In the old hebrew scriptures, the same word for day was used for the translations. This means a day means a 24 hour day in the bible. The walls of Jericho story is about the Israelites walking around the walls of Jericho once per each day, and 7 times on the 7th day. If this translation was millions of years, then this could be impossible because a day would then be a few million years. This is not possible.Sorry for debating here, but I wanted to introduce myself. Now how do I get an avatar up?.

If it is put in the Accuracy and Inerrancy thread the standards for evidence are higher than in the Faith side.In Bible Study you can just converse about the material in the bible. I think there are good discussions that can be had without getting into the correctness of the age of the earth.If you put such dating things into The Bible Accuracy and Inerrancy you may get pushed into "Dates and Dating" to defend a young earth (something which younger earthers have been loath to do and spectacularly unsuccessful at).

Karhul might have been trying to introduce himself by describing where he's coming from rather than begin a new thread.
