Long time reader, first time registered
I'm Iain, I'm 27 and a projectionist from Edinburgh in Scotland.
I like writing (words and music), DJing (most Drum and Bass), films (Burton, Lynch, Gillingham, Wes Anderson, PT Anderson are fave directors), watching pyschological drama (Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Nip/Tuck, etc) and reading/discussing Astronomy - esp deep space and multiuniverse theories.
Guess for these forums I should say I believe in Creation AND Evolution, but I dunno if that puts me in any "category" of EvCers as I'm quite new to the topic. Thought about and discussed lots of issues with friends but never done much serious reading on it until now - spurred by Channel 4's excellent 'What We Still Don't Know' documentaries.
Well guess I'll see you all on the topics!

Interesting stance, it'd be good if you could go into more detail though. As a 'crevolutionist', do you believe that a god created the origins of life, the ancestors of all living things on earth? Or does your idea of god go back further, something along the lines of that he instigated the big bang? Hopefuly as you get deeper into the subject, you will be better able to tell where you stand.
I also enjoy writing (literary writing and music composition), and also have a soft spot for drum and bass, so we may at least have that in common.

Well if any of the fundamental laws of the universe were a TINY fraction out (can't remember the exact figure, something like 0.000000000001%), life would have been highly unlikely to form.
I believe the precision of nature and physics actually points to a "creator", but one that cannot be proven by natural laws in a million lifetimes. There may be a chance the universe is one of many in a 'multiverse', with each universe seperately expanding, and we won't know (assuming we exist that long) for billions of millenia until they crash into each other and ... universe to universe. I don't believe this theory is bulletproof, but it's one that's very hard to disprove!

beware of mathmatical models - they are only as good as the information going into them, and are strongly "biased" be the lack of information available.
whenever mathematical models and reality disagree on a topic is isn't reality that is in error.
enjoy, and welcome to the fray.

aRe you of
Reverend Dr John Polkinghorne
's ilk? Polkinghorne however seemed not to think in terms of multiple universes when lectureing at Cornell this past fall.
