Re: sith
Meh, it was ok. Alot better than the previous 2, but a far cry from the majesty of the origional series. Truth be told I watched it out of tradition rather than enjoyment.
Sitting thrugh it there were several times I felt "thank god this is the last one in the series." and "I'll never have to watch this again".
Perhapse that is lucases brilliance, to make a franchise that has become so enured in the culture that even those who have come to loath it as it dragged on, will watch it anyway. Almost a force of habit.
But ya, it was ok.

Re: sith
Good news and bad news:
Good news: Plan 9 from Outer Space can be downloaded for free and legal from here .
Bad news: It was way better and original than the new Star Wars films put together.

Ron D. Moore is my master, now. You don't know the power of the new Battlestar Galactica!

Man, how I still remember seeing the first Star Wars movie for the first time when I was in junior high school! It was such a technical feat beyond any previous science fiction movie. I suppose the special effects of the original version (before George Lucas subsequent tinkering) may not compare well with the current state of the art, but at the time it was simply...awesome.

I think the origional special effects looked better. They felt more tactile, not so cartoony.
I mean, the CG stuff looks like CG. The origional stull looked like you could touch it.

funny...
Interestingly, the reason I don't like CG in animation is that it doesn't look cartoony enough.
But the same point you are making -- it just doesn't mesh all that well with the rest of the show.

I tried watching it for a while but the way the episodes were filmed gave me a big headache every time. Sure, third person view is great for the mini-series, but it got old and annoying!
