I am a new member to this site, but have always been intrigued by the ongoing debate that either Creationists, Evolutionist, Cosmologists, etc. have been involved in, and will be until our time on earth is at an end.
It is not my intent to anger or upset any members, and I am sure that many of you enter here with the same cause: To debate and inform those with the opposing beliefs/theories in order to prove either the truth of your beliefs/theories or fallacies of the other.
So here I begin what I may have to ask or state, in hopes that a good discussion will be birthed.
I do not completely understand the theory of "the Big Bang," but I am aware that this theory does not state that the universe "exploded from nothing." Because of this, I would like to also state that I will try very carefully to use as little information as possible provided by one Kent Hovind. It is my understanding through viewing his work and articles, as well as other creationists, and non-creationists that he is to be proven wrong at many points. (This being said I AM a creationists, but am very interested in the beliefs of non-creationists). Kent Hovind may have some scientific experience, but there have been times where I, and others, have found statements by both evolutionists and creationists disproving many of what Hovind has said.
I do not claim he is a liar, nor am I here to bash him, but I would appreciate that since I am not using him as a source, no one else will attempt to use him as a source AGAINST me, since I am aware of his work. If I do bring any Creation Scientists into this discussion, it will most likely not be him.
Just to prove a point to my fellow creationists, I give you a quote from Hovind's own website.
"The first law of thermodynamics proves that matter and energy cannot just appear. Evolutionists must ignore the most basic law of science at the very start of their belief system."
Again, nowhere does TBBT state that the universe was created from NOTHING. If Dr. Hovind is to make a false statement such as this, then it can be well assumed that many other of his statements are mistaken. Also, many of his work and theories are "borrowed" from other sources, showing that he is probably not even doing a lot of this work himself, just presenting it.
So? Go ahead Creationists, Evolutionists, Cosmoligists......INFORM ME. Where is TBBT headed, or not headed for that matter? Where is the proof for your belief? I honestly wish to know.
