From Lam's new signature line: I've often wondered how long we could go with all of the scientific prefixes and suffixes out there. It isn't very difficult to make Lam's word longer by simply adding to the beginning and end of it.before: pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis

The official name for, say, a 300-amino-acid protein might be "glycyllysylalanylphenylanalylaspartyl....(294 more)....valine." Big proteins would have long names, though.
