Spam Email

I recieved an email (spam) from a "KOFFI AKIMBO".
Part of it says:FROM KOFFI AKIMBOI GOT YOUR EMAIL CONTACT FROM http://EvC Forum: Forum ListDEAR ONE,PERMIT ME TO INFORM YOU OF MY DESIRE OF GOING INTO BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU. I KNOW THIS MAIL MAY COME TO YOU AS A SURPRISE, SINCE WE HAVE NOT KNOWN OR WRITTEN BEFORE.INTRODUCING MYSELF, I AM KOFFI AKIMBO, THE ONLY SON OF THE LATE MR AND MRS ADAMS AKIMBO, MY FATHER WAS A GOLD AND COCOA MERCHANT BASED IN ACCRA, GHANA AND ABIDJAN (IVORY COAST), HE WAS POISONED TO DEATH BY HIS BUSINESS ASSOCIATES ON ONE OF THEIR BUSINESS TRIPS. BEFORE THE DEATH OF MY FATHER ON 29TH JUNE 2005 IN A PRIVATE HOSPITAL HERE IN ABIDJAN. HE SECRETLY CALLED ME ON HIS BEDSIDE AND TOLD ME THAT HE HAS A SUM OF USD $6.5( SIX MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND UNITED STATE DOLLARS ), DEPOSITED IN A SUSPENCE ACCOUNT IN ONE OF THE PRIME BANK HERE IN ABIDJAN IVORY COAST , THAT HE USED MY NAME AS HIS ONLY SON FOR THE NEXT OF KIN IN

Mine wasn't this kind of spam but I got an unsolicited email based on EvC a few days ago. I didn't know my email was visible. Someone seemed to be very anti religion and seems to think I am a creationist.

He's right it shows. Go to your profile and change that option.This thread was the first time I posted here so that is not the case with me.

If you had your email set to visible in your profile initially then someone could have gotten it from the member list. I don't know if yours was or was not visible initially.We do know that the person that sent you email registered here. He was suspended a couple hours later. There is little though that we can do about folk harvesting emails.I do know that I too got the email from (lower than whale snot) Koffi, but only on my Admin account which I keep open so folk can reach it, and not to my member account which I keep hidden.
